Biography

Well, it's complex.

My business career has taken me all over the world, including the US (where I lived for five years), as well as Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, South Asia and even a little of Africa.  I left the US a few years ago, accepting a new position in London, but I have been back there a lot, both before and after 9/11.  When I returned to England after years in America, the first thing that I noticed as I stepped off the plane at Gatwick was the stink of cigarette smoke.  I have been struggling to readjust to UK life ever since.

I have had many interesting experiences that have shaped who I am.   There is a theme in my writing.  The fact is that we cannot generalise about nations and we cannot dehumanise other groups of people.   This is the 'tribal trap' that we must evolve out of.  I am pro-America, pro-Islam, pro-Christianity, pro-Judaism, pro-Hinduism, pro-Buddhism, pro-environment and, of course, pro-peace.  This may seem paradoxical; but it is merely complex, not impossible.

Our mistakes and experiences make us who we are and we become better for them.
