We lead our lives in a complex and confusing world. We have many different motives and drivers,
and are exposed to a huge amount of information, much of it conflicting. We have to navigate through it all, but this
implies knowing what our destination is. Perhaps, many of our assumptions
are questionable; perhaps, many of our 'facts' are false.
This site is about such a journey, bringing together many themes
which might seem incompatible: executive business travel, global corporate
careers, management consulting, growing-up, humour,
tribalism (racism, nationalism, religious division), God, Spirit, the strange
phenomenon that is the Universe (coincidence, synchronicity, serendipity,
Karma), religious theology and how it all fits together (Judaism, Christianity,
Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc), global politics, cultural slavery (oppression
of women, enforced marriage, non-freedom of religion), Economics, the politics
of terrorism, the inter-connection of everything and everyone, the path to
peace.
Those of us who view the world only in simplistic, polarised terms do not have the opportunity for personal
growth that acknowledging and embracing complexity can bring.
Those of us who accept complexity are always on a journey to
learn more and to make a difference.
There is no 'black and white', only infinite shades of
grey.
I hope that you enjoy this insight into one complex
journey. This site is regularly updated with new writings. There is a very long story to tell.
(PS: The term 'Complex Man' refers to a human who has evolved above the caveman level of being motivated only by food, water, shelter, sex and a good fight, to having much more sophisticated needs and drivers. When I say Complex 'Man', I mean it in the generic sense to include 'Woman'. I just wanted to make that clear).
